Atlantis is a collection by American jazz performer Sun Ra and his Astro-Infinity Arkestra, discharged in 1969 by El Saturn Records.
The collection intensely includes the "Sun oriented Sound Instrument", a Hohner Clavinet. One of the four organizations which initially highlighted on Side 1 of the first discharge was subbed by an alternate piece for the 1973 reissue, however reusing a similar name, "Yucatan". The two pieces show up on the later CD reissue.
The title track secured the second side of the LP and is viewed as a key model for Sun Ra's exhibitions through the 1970s.[4] It was recorded at a 1967 show at the Olatunji Center of African Culture in New York [5] and has been portrayed as "a perfect work of art that exciting bends in the road through numerous soundscapes".[6]
