Mijn vader heeft een netwerk op z'n werk waarbij hij thuis kan inloggen op de server op het werk.
Nu moet de boekhouder thuis ook kunnen inloggen om boekhouding bij te kunnen werken.
Ik ben bij hem geweest om het proberen te regelen maar er was een error dat hij de server niet kon vinden. Ik vond het al vreemd want het ip-adres was 192.168.X.1. Dat ken ik als een intern ipadres. Ik heb bij hem exact dezelfde gegevens als thuis ingevoerd; maar het werkte niet.
Mijn vermoeden: Ik moet het ipadres van zijn compter in windows server 2003 invullen.
Mijn vraag: Hoe zorg ik ervoor dat de boekhouder via extern bureablad in kan loggen op de server?

heeft de boekhouder een VPN/Citrix/IPSec verbinding naar de server? Zo ja, dan zou het gewoon moeten werken op intern ip. Zo nee, dan moet de pc van de boekhouder toch eerst op het netwerk van het bedrijf aangemeld worden. De VPN dus.

Nee de boekhouder heeft helemaal niets.
Hoe zou ik hem aan kunnen melden? (Ik heb zn IPadres)
Is dat simpel in Windows Server 2003?

Simpel? Voor mij wel, voor jouw weet ik niet. Ik weet niet hoever jouw kennis gaat.
iig je moet dan tegen de boekhouder zeggen dat die contact moet opnemen met de netwerkbeheerder van het bedrijf om te kunnen inloggen, daar zit namelijk licentie/inlog gegevens en eventuele encrypties aan vast.
Van hier uit kan ik je dus niet meer verder helpen, ik raad aan contact op te nemen met het bedrijf.

Die boekhouder zit thuis en heeft geen restricties dan de normale windwos XP restricties. Ik zal de meneer die het bij ons thuis gefixt geeft ook weer eens opbellen. Ik had verwacht dat het een eitje was (progje opstarten; ip invullen; klaar) maar niet dus.
Mijn kennis wat betreft netwerken is niet erg uitgebreid; maar als je een aantal termen weet waar ik mee kan googlen ben ik al erg ver geholpen.
In ieder geval al bedankt!

Het lijkt mij niet verstandig als je geen kennis hebt van servers en netwerken een vpn naar iemand te maken.
VPN is gevaarlijk in verkeerde handen en kan een ramp zijn voor bedrijven als daaruit gelekt wordt. Security is belangrijk. Mij maakt het niet zo uit, wil je gerust uitleggen hoe, niet mijn geld dat in dat bedrijf zit. Maar verstandig lijkt het me niet...

Wat ik gewoon zou doen als ik je pa was, gewoon een memory stickje kopen en dan daar zijn boekhouding opzetten. En dan zelf brengen naar de boekhouder:P Werkt prima:P

Werkt hij aan een computer? Dan kan je op die computer het programmaatje "NTRConnect" installeren. Op de thuis-computer kan je dan via de website ntrconnect.com verbinding maken met die werkpc via de login (die login wordt ook aangemaakt als je die setup doorloopt). Ik hoop dat dit je kan helpen.

Die tool is idd best wel makkelijk maar voldoet niet naar de eisen van de TS volgens mij. Wat de TS wilde is een (netwerk)berbinding naar een server van het werk. NTRconnect is alleen zover ik weet direct ip naar ip voor RDP.
Zelf ben ik een groot fan van een eigen SSH server en dan waar dan ook gewoon poorten laten omzeilen via mijn SSH server via poort 443. Waar ook ter wereld, proxy of niet, gewoon torrents kunnen downen etc etc.
Maar toch lijkt het mij niet verstandig dat een zoon de boekhouder van zijn vader op de server van het werk waar zijn vader werkt aan te sluiten. Lijkt mij beter om toch dat via het werk te laten doen.
