Mijn ouders hebben een Asus mobo genaamd: P5S800-VM
Ik wou graag mijn ext. HDD erop aansluiten met de hoop dat het heel snel ging nl. USB 2.0.
Nou zou ik echt niet weten wat het inhoud maar ik weet wel dat het iig sneller is. In de manual (van de mobo) en op internet staat dat hij het ondersteund alleen als ik de HDD erin duw geeft hij de melding Dit apparaat kan sneller werken (op USB 2.0)..... dus ik had net even gezocht op internet naar drivers maar nix gevonden... veel sites maken er meldign van dat er al standaard drivers in SP2 zitten in XP...
Dus mijn vraag is, weten jullie hoe ik dit oplos? Linkje:

als je tegenwoordig een pc koopt zijn alle poorten standaard usb 2.0 (480 mbs = 480 mega bits per seconde). maar als je perse een externe hdd wilt hebben kun je het beste een power usb 2.0 hebben want die leveren extra kracht aan de hdd waardoor het sneller kan worden. maar als je een externe hdd koopt moet je ook letten op milliseconde doorvoersnelheid want daar kan het ook aan liggen. en natu urlijk aan de rpm. maar dat is allemaal even uitzoekwerk

EDIT: we hebben hier iig geen cd liggen...of hij ligt nog bij men pa op het werk maar ik denk dat wat er op die cd staat ook wel van internet is te downloaden..

Kijk anders op de download-site van de Asus, zoek het type op en daar staan vast de USB2.0 drivers.
Even voor je opgezocht, ben de beroerste niet: KLIK KLIK
Staan ook meerdere drivers.
PS. had je uiteraard ook zelf kunnen uitdokteren maar ok?, voor deze ene keer dan.

Gaat niet lukken met de w2k driver.. hij zegt weer dat de 2.0 drivers al in xp zaten... en als ik men hdd er op doe zegt hij dat er geen snellere poorten beschikbaar zijn... :S:S

Same problem here, daarom dat ik FireWire (800) boven USB 2.0 verkies
