Van dat 3 + 1 had ik wel door maar uit zijn screenshot die hij ook had geplaats is te lezen dat hij maar 3 DDR DIMM sloten heeft ik neem aan dat dat zijn mbram sloten zijn. (Als ik bij mijzelf kijk onder everest dan heb ik daar 4 staan en ik heb 2 in gebruik, dus daar staat hoeveel hij er in totaal heeft en niet hoeveel hij er over heeft)
Dus ik daarom zei ik dat ik er niet zeker van was dat hij dan ook de dual optie heeft.

Misschien kun je ook nog een screenshot plaatsen van SPD van everest en zeggen wat voor moederbord je hebt, dat had je net afgeknipt van je laatste screenshot:(
Update: na wat gepuzzel met je screenshot ben ik er achtergekomen dat je volgens mij een Asus K8V-XE als moederbord hebt. Dus 3 mbram sloten. Ik heb kunnen vinden dat je moederbord niet dual memory ondersteund. Dat is ook wel logisch aangezien je ook maar 3 sloten hebt.03 maart 2007 16:07 -

Ik was er van uitgegaan dat de TS even zijn pc had opengemaakt en dus 4 fysieke sloten zag (waarvan 1 bezet). Maar de combi socket 754 + chipset K8T890 levert indd dat Asus bord op.
Op de NL asus site kan ik zo snel geen documentatie of QVL ervan vinden...03 maart 2007 16:50 -

maar dat is wel een buitenlandse site, maar ik neem aan dat "nu" nee betenkent, waar dan uit blijkt dat het moederbord geen dual memory ondersteund. Voor andere specificaties hoef je alleen maar de naam van het moederbord bij google in te typen en je hebt genoeg.03 maart 2007 17:05 -

bj farmoreIk zeg dus dat nu nee betekent, wel lezen voor dat je wat zegt.
Dit zeg ik omdat jij toch ook geen firewire op je moederbord hebt zitten? daar staat namelijk ook nu achter.
En "da" betekent volgens mij ja, omdat jij namelijk wel een parallele poort op je moederbord hebt zitten dat kun je wel zien op plaatjes op google.
Update: Jij had je bericht alweer aangepast voordat ik een beetje kon reageren, maar je kunt het geheugen wel in het moederbord stoppen. Je moederbord ondersteund geheugen tot pc3200, maar je kunt het echter niet in dual mode draaien. Dus haal je de 400 mHz niet.03 maart 2007 17:43 -
blacksorcererJe kan het geheugen dus w?l gewoon erbij zetten, zodat je 1024Mb ipv 512MB geheugen hebt, en de snelheid van het geheugen blijft gewoon hetzelfde.
Als je mobo nou ??k Dual Channel had ondersteund, dan zou je kwa snelheid van het geheugen er tevens op vooruit zijn gegaan.
Omdat de 2 modules geen Dual Channel hoeven te draaien, scheelt dit ook weer in de gelijkenis van de modules die er moet zijn, zolang je nieuwe module dus maar compatible is met het moederbord en de timings (die bij SPD staan) van de oude module aankan.03 maart 2007 19:02 -

louwrensDDR400 draait op 400MHz, doe je er een kaart van DDR400 bij blijft je geheugen op 400MHz draaien.

danox!Waar heb je het eigenlijk over lol, ik vraag alleen of het nu sneller zal gaan, ik heb geen dual core dus daar zijn we het allemaal over eens, maar de snelheid wordt natuurlijk toch wel sneller ddr 200 512 mb + ddr 400 512 mb = dus 1024 mb dus is sneller toch?04 maart 2007 13:13

blacksorcererBlijkbaar heb je dus helemaal niets zelf doorgelezen wat geheugen is als ik je posts zo zie.
Er wordt op dit forum juist w?l verwacht dat je dat doet, want anders schiet het dus niet op, zoals nu blijkt.
Daarmee ben je ook akkoord gegaan wat betreft onze regels toen je voor het eerst poste.
Het aantal MB van geheugen is namelijk een hoeveelheid aan opslag, net zoals je harde schijf is.
Omdat jij nu 512MB hebt raakt dat bij gamen snel vol, en dan gaat de opslag van die tijdelijke bestanden niet naar het supersnelle geheugen, maar naar het relatieve langzame harde schijf, wat dus aanvoelt alsof het langzaam is.
Stop je er 512 bij, dan raakt dat geheugen veel minder snel vol en heb je daar kwa snelheid in games zeer zeker w?l profijt van.
Echter het geheugen zelf is niet sneller, dus als je bij 512MB maar 200MB gebruikt, gaat dat even snel als dat je maar 200MB gebruikt als je 1024MB geheugen hebt. Dus voornamelijk voor zware applicaties en voor games is het aantrekkelijk meer geheugen te nemen.
Meer info zul je echt zelf moeten lezen, ik heb ook al links in mijn posts gezet in dit topic, dus die zou ik maar eens eerst lezen voordat je hier nog meer uitspraken doet, waaruit blijkt dat je dat helemaal niet hebt gedaan.
Het antwoord op je oorspronkelijke vraag is gewoon: JA, je kan er een reepje PC3200 512MB bijstoppen, maar let dan wel erop dat het reepje compatible zal zijn met je mobo en rijwel dezelfde timings heeft.
En die 2 laatste begrippen moet je eerst maar eens zelf proberen op te sporen ;)04 maart 2007 13:45
